Avon celebrates Arbor Day, April 17, 2012

State Rep. William Galvan delivers a proclamation at the Avon Public Library. Nation Grid purchased and planted a Colorado Blue Spruce, a Siberian Spruce and a Fraser Fir to celebrate Arbor Day. Rep. Galvan is flanked by State Senator Brian Joyce, Library Director Karen Johnson, Library Trustee Chairman Wilma MacDonald and Selectman Bob Brady.

Avon celebrates Arbor Day, April 29, 2011

Selectman Bob Brady delivers a proclamation at the Avon Middle-High School courtyard. Nation Grid purchased and planted one cherry tree and two magnolias to celebrate Arbor Day. Selectman Brady is flanked by Superintendent Dr. Margret Frieswick and Joanne Tierney, aide to State Rep. William Galvan.

Boston Post Cane Presentation


Chairman Frank Hegarty presents Mr. John Costa, Sr. with the Avon's new Boston Post Cane at the September 9, 2010 Selectmen's meeting. The Boston Post Cane, donated by North Easton Savings Bank, is awarded to the oldest resident in town.

Planter Donation


Mr. Jeff Bruner of Foster Southeastern stands with Chairman Frank Hegarty and Town Administrator Mike McCue behind a planter built with pavers donated from Foster Southeastern. The planter, which sits on the Avon-Brockton line at East Main and West Main Streets, was built by the Avon Highway Department.
